It's also worth noting that many DVD-Audio- and SACD-capable disc players have a USB port, so you can just load compatible files on a thumb drive and play directly from that. My beloved Oppo BDP-93 lets you hook up both USB and eSATA drives and will play Flac and WAV files this way.
